CON-SERT SCREWS™

Con-Sert Screws were designed to achieve higher pull-out values at
shallower embedments than competitive masonry screws.

The Con-Sert concrete screws replace plastic anchors and sheet metal screws for lightweight anchoring. Con-Sert Screws eliminate the need for two piece anchoring. The Con-Sert Screw will cut threads in a pre-drilled hole in precast, concrete, block, poured concrete, brick or any other masonry material. Con-Sert screws are made of heat treated carbon steel with zinc and yellow dichromate plating.

3/4" recommended embedment. Up to 1 1/4" embedment only in extremely soft masonry.

A safety factor of 4:1, or 25% of ultimate, should be used. Critical applications (vibratory loads, overhead installations) may require a safety factor of as much as 10:1, or more. Results were based upon drilling the pilot hole with a close tolerance DFS/USA consert drill bit. To determine screw length needed, add 3/4" to the thickness of the material being fastened.

WHY ONLY A 3/4" EMBEDMENT?
Con-Serts have a uniquely engineered thread design and drill bit diameter which allows maximum pullout at minimum embedment.

HOW DOES CON-SERT SAVE MONEY?

HERE'S HOW: In one (100 ct.) box of Con-Sert Screws drilling at 3/4" embedment you would drill a total of 6'3" of concrete. Other masonry screws require a 1 1/4" minimum embedment...and the same 100 screws would have you drilling 10'5" of
concrete! That's over 4' of extra drilling plus extra time, extra money and extra bits. A 10 box job would have you drilling over 40 feet of extra concrete!

Where do I use Con-Serts?

Use Con-Sert I Tool or (5/16" Hex Driver or #3 Phillips Driver) to embed screws.

(REMEMBER: Thickness of object + 3/4" = length of screw)
Drill hole with Con-Sert #8 Bit or 1/8" Masonry Bit through object and into concrete.

Use Con-Sert #8 Tool or (1/4" Hex Driver or #2 Phillips Driver) to set screw.
